Guafengzhai has a few tea growing areas. The highest altitude one is HeiShuiLiangZi: the Black Water Ridge tea. The name itself comes from a stream in which the water has a dark appearance due to the high amount of organic matter present.

The tea is pure with a lot of depth. It is one of our favourite teas from our 2024 collection. It’s creamy sweet, with hints of cherry and wood, complex and engaging. The Huigan (aftertaste) is strong. It’s of very limited production but we’re fortunate to have strong contacts in this area. We moved fast in early spring and sourced a few kilos this year.
